Our directors and senior managers recognise the importance of high standards of corporate social responsibility, of considering the social, environmental and ethical implications of our activities, and seek to continually improve the policies and practices in place to meet our responsibilities.

Employees - the welfare and safety of employees is a key priority and we actively encourage staff involvement in the development of our business activities. Employees are treated with fairness and respect and are encouraged and supported in the development of their careers.

Environment - we recognise ICM is part of a wider community of employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers and other interested parties, and recognises we have a responsibility to act in a way that respects the environment. We seek to encourage our business to act in an environmentally responsible manner. ICM has initiated a program to become accredited to the internationally recognised standard ISO14001:2004 Environmental Standard. This ensures the organisation commits to implementing objectives and targets to reduce its impact on the environment, and also commits the organisation to preventing pollution and to having policies and procedures to deal with identified environmental incidents that may occur. The group service operation reviewed its environmental aspects and identified major impacts and reduction targets.

  • Waste to landfill: ICM has set ambitious targets to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. It is doing this by introducing recycling schemes and engaging with partners and suppliers to manage waste and disposing of it more effectively.
  • Reduce power consumption: A program of continual investment in energy efficient equipment, consolidation of IT services and active power management of equipment and buildings is being undertaken to drive this consumption down.
  • Reducing business mileage: ICM has made a substantial investment over the year in advanced communication technology such as video and telephone conferencing to reduce travel and improve operational efficiencies. 

Health & Safety - we strive to provide and maintain a safe environment for all employees, customers and visitors to our premises and to comply with relevant health and safety legislation. In addition, we aim to protect the health of employees with suitable, specific work-based strategies (underpinned by the respective policies and procedures), seeking to minimise the risk of injury from company activity and ensuring systems are in place to address health and safety matters.
